This skill was performed in Genetics class when I was assigned a specific gene sequence and perform different tasks that introduced me to several of the most important web-portals used by medical and scientific communities working with genes and genomes.  These portals are maintained by public institutions around the world, and provide free access to powerful bioinformatic tools and large-system genetic databases.  They are used every day by thousands of researchers, and are essential for effective dissemination and use of genome sequence data.
